Fresh Water Double SCUBA Dive Ewens Ponds & Kilsby Sinkhole

EWENS PONDS & KILSBY SINKHOLE AUSTRALIAS BEST FRESH WATER SCUBA SITES 

Australia's best recreational fresh water dive sites are available to SCUBA dive with an accredited tour operator only.

We conduct guided tours as a double dive schedule on Wednesday and Saturdays at both locations  We have prearranged times slots on these days enabling us to be able to confirm dates months in advance of tours dates.

We are able to conduct tours as single dives on others days with a minimum tour amount of 3 divers , Everyone new to freshwater diving or have been out the water for sometime or not a regular SCUBA diver are strongly advised to jump on the double dive tour. We dive Ewens ponds first and then in the afternoon Kilsby sinkhole this helps divers adjust to the fresh water fully maximising your enjoyment of the day.

Only want to do a SINGLE dive ?? 

We can arrange single site dives at both Ewen ponds & Kilsby depending on site availability., minimum group size for single dives is 3 and after we have filled up the pre booked spots on the Wednesdays and Saturdays

Ewen ponds - rated easy 

Kilsby sinkhole - rated medium - its advised that unless your a regular diver in these conditions its best to do the double dive with Ewen Ponds being first.

Ewen Ponds reopening information 

Ewen's Ponds is reopening after a period of closure due to low water levels and reduced flows. Aquatic vegetation in the ponds is still recovering following the dramatic drop in water levels and the impact of water birds having more ready access to the vegetation. Significant amounts of aquatic vegetation loss has occurred, As the ponds are in a recovery phase, changes to visitation permit conditions are to apply as a short term management measure.

The site conditions will continue to be monitored by NPWS staff, with increased ranger presence to ensure compliance with permits.

IF THE PONDS ARE CLOSED ON YOUR INTENDED TRIP DATES WE REVERT TO A DOUBLE KILSBY SHINKOLE DIVE FOR THIS BOOKING

Ewens Ponds 

Open water SCUBA certification required

Maximum Depth: 10 meters

Water Temperature: 15-degrees C - (Minimum of 5mm full length wetsuit required) 

Visibility: 50m to +80m

Minimum age is 12 years old for SCUBA and 6 years old for snorkelling (by special arrangement).

Kilsbys Sinkhole - Open water SCUBA certification required

Dive time: ~45mins aprox 

Maximum Depth: 27 meters (Open Water Lake Zone no decompression no overhead) 

Water Temperature: 15-degrees C - (Minimum of 5mm full length wetsuit required) 

Visibility: 50m to +80m aprox

Minimum is age 15yrs (below by special arrangement only)

Each diver is to be made aware that a level of fitness is required, we have ladders and walk ways to use to get to the waters edge at Kilsby and a 300m walk back from the lower pond at Ewens.
